Chapter 18 - WHAT VICTOR COULD NEVER BUY Victor had money.

So Victor stopped trying to purchase forgiveness.
He began earning trust instead.

“Do you hate me?”

“No.”
“Do you forgive me?”

“I don't think forgiveness works like a switch.”
Victor nodded.
“What do you think it is?”
“Something people earn when they stop demanding it.”
He smiled.
“That sounds fair.”
Lily looked at him.
