Chapter 17 - MAINE They traveled north.

The address led to an abandoned lighthouse.
Inside was an old room filled with photographs.

And hundreds of people.
At the center stood a recording.
Emily pressed play.
Her mother's voice filled the room.
"If my daughters ever hear this, then the system has survived."
Emily covered her mouth.
"You have two sisters."
Julian looked at her.
"Two?"
"One was Nora."
Emily's voice trembled.
"The other..."
The recording continued.
"...was given a new identity."
A photograph appeared.
A little girl.
Her name was written beneath it.
ELENA CROSS.
Emily froze.
"Cross?"
Julian understood.
"Daniel?"
The answer came from behind them.
"No."
They turned.
Samuel stood in the doorway.
"Daniel isn't her father."
"Then who is?"
Samuel looked at Emily.
"Your mother."
Emily stared.
Her mother had survived.
And apparently, so had the entire bloodline connected to Eclipse.
Samuel lowered his weapon.
"I came to warn you."
"About what?"
He looked toward the lighthouse window.
"Daniel Cross isn't running."
Julian frowned.
"Then where is he?"
