Chapter 3 - WHAT WAS UNDER THE HOUSE“WHO SENT THAT MESSAGE?”

The father grabbed the phone, but the sender appeared only as an unknown number. Another message arrived seconds later.

IF YOU WANT YOUR SON SAFE, GET HIM OUT OF THE HOUSE.

The red-haired woman suddenly moved toward the door.

“Where are you going?” he demanded.

She stopped.

“To call the police.”

“No.” His voice hardened. “Give me your phone.”

Her eyes flashed.

“You can’t be serious.”

The dark-haired woman stepped between the child and the staircase. Something had changed. This was no longer merely about what happened on those steps. Someone had erased security footage, activated a dead woman’s account, and was now warning them about something hidden beneath the mansion.

The father took the basement key from a locked drawer.

His fiancée lunged forward.

“DON’T!”

That single word exposed more fear than every denial she had made.

He stared at her.

“You know what’s down there.”

She said nothing.

Minutes later, he descended the narrow basement stairs with the security technician beside him. At the bottom stood an old steel door concealed behind storage shelves. The father had owned the mansion for six years and had never known it existed.

Inside, they discovered monitors.

Dozens of them.

Every bedroom. Every hallway. The nursery. The staircase.

Someone had been secretly recording the family.

Then one monitor flickered to life.

The missing staircase footage appeared.

The father watched his fiancée grab the child’s arm. He watched her shove him toward the stairs. He watched the dark-haired woman race forward and catch him.

Then came something worse.

May you like

Before leaving the frame, the woman in green looked directly at the hidden camera.

And smiled.
