Julian adjusted his silk bow tie while greeting the wealthy guests in the hall.
Crystal glasses clinked continuously as classical music echoed across the polished marble floor.
His wife stood near the decorative flag display speaking smoothly with prominent city officials.
Evelyn wore a custom silk gown that caught every camera light in the room.
She smiled warmly at everyone who complimented her charming family life and beautiful home.
Yet Julian felt a cold knot of worry deep inside his chest tonight.
Their seven-year-old son Toby had been missing from the party for over an hour.
Julian: Have you seen Toby anywhere around the gardens?
Evelyn: He is likely playing video games upstairs in his bedroom.
Julian: I checked his room twice and it was completely empty.
Evelyn: Do not worry so much in front of our important guests.
Julian turned away from his wife and walked toward the quiet back hallway.
He called his son's name softly while searching behind the heavy velvet drapes.
Suddenly a loud echoing thump echoed from the main drawing room wall.
The talking stopped immediately as guests turned their heads toward the strange heavy noise.
Elena the quiet maid was standing right near the large silk American wall banner.
She held a heavy steel demolition tool tightly in her red calloused hands.
Sweat poured down her forehead as she raised the heavy tool over her head.
Julian: What on earth are you doing to the drywall?
Elena: Please do not stop me right now sir!
Julian: Put that heavy hammer down on the floor immediately!
Elena: There is someone trapped inside this hidden wall hollow!
The crowd gasped loudly as the maid swung the tool with all her strength.
The sharp edge smashed directly into the white drywall with a terrible crash.
Plaster dust erupted into the clean air and covered the polished marble floor.
Evelyn rushed forward quickly while grabbing her husband's arm in total panic.
Evelyn: Call security right now to remove this crazy woman!
Julian: Wait a second because I hear something faint behind there!
Julian stepped closer to the cracked drywall and pressed his ear flat against it.
A muffled sob vibrated directly through the thick layer of painted sheetrock.
The sound was unmistakably the tiny voice of a terrified crying child.
Julian froze in complete terror as he recognized his own missing son's voice.
Toby: Daddy please get me out of the dark space!
Julian: Toby daddy is right here outside the wall!
Toby: It is so hot and I cannot breathe properly!
Julian's heart pounded wildly inside his chest as total panic overtook his senses.
