Chapter 7 - Five People, One Traitor Nobody trusted anyone.
Not anymore.
Victor surrendered his phone.
So did Marco.
Dana.
Isabella.
Lily.
Investigators found nothing.
Then Lily noticed something.
Ethan's stuffed rabbit.
Serena had given it to him months earlier.
Inside the stitching was a tracking device.
The safe house had already been compromised.
They moved Ethan again.
This time nobody told Victor the destination.
He agreed.
That surprised Lily.
The old Victor would have threatened everyone in the room.
This Victor simply said:
“Keep my son alive.”
Hours later, police located Serena.
Or thought they did.
The woman entering Serena's condominium wore her coat.
Her sunglasses.
Her shoes.
But when officers arrested her, they discovered a terrified actress who had been paid twenty thousand dollars.
Serena had vanished.
Then Isabella remembered something.
“There’s a place.”
Victor looked at her.
“Where?”
“The house where she kept me after Ethan was born.”
“Where?”
Isabella looked toward Lily.

And somewhere beneath an abandoned lakeside mansion waited the evidence Serena had killed to protect.
