The floorboards beneath the operators exploded into splintered wood as Marcus and David fired through the subfloor from the basement below.

Two mercenaries dropped instantly. Miller threw himself behind a heavy oak dining table, firing blind toward the hallway. "Fall back! It’s an ambush!"

Outside, Sarah emerged from the torrential rain like a shadow. Armed with a tactical shotgun, she neutralized the perimeter guard guarding the mercenary transport vehicles, breaching the flank of the squad trapped inside the cabin.

Smoke grenades detonated inside the living room, filling the structure with dense grey fog. Through the haze, Sarah moved with terrifying efficiency, using the tight confines of the cabin to render Miller’s superior firepower useless.

"You're a schoolteacher!" Miller screamed from behind the overturned table, spraying high-caliber rounds into the drywall. "You think you can play soldier with us?"

"I don't play," Sarah’s voice echoed from the fog behind him.

Miller spun around, raising his sidearm, but Sarah slammed the butt of her shotgun into his jaw, shattering his nose and throwing him onto his back. She pinned his throat beneath her boot, pressing the hot barrel of her weapon directly between his eyes.

"Where is Eleanor?" Sarah asked, her voice chillingly devoid of emotion.

Miller spat blood onto her boot, wheezing through his broken nose. "She's... she's at the harbor. Private yacht. Leaving for non-extradition waters in twenty minutes."
