Inside was a photograph of my father standing beside a woman I had never seen.

I stared at the photograph for a long time.
Ethan entered the room.
“What is it?”
I handed it to him.
His face changed.
“You know her?”
“No.”
He turned the photograph over.
Then whispered:
“That's impossible.”
“Why?”
“Because she's been dead for twenty years.”
