He met Victor Kane at a private club two nights later.
Victor was the CEO of Blackridge Capital, Vanguard's oldest corporate rival.
“You want revenge?” Victor asked.
Daniel stared into his whiskey.
“I want my life back.”
Victor smiled.
“Those are different things.”
“I don't care.”
Victor leaned forward.
“I can help you destroy Vanguard.”
Daniel looked up.
“How?”
“By proving its owner isn't as clean as everyone thinks.”
Victor pushed a file across the table.
Daniel opened it.
His face changed.
Inside were documents from three years earlier.
Transfers.
Shell companies.
Offshore accounts.
And one signature.
Evelyn Vance.
Daniel stared at it.
“She never told me.”
