Chapter 10 - THE HOSPITAL ESCAPE Julian pretended to lose consciousness.
Thomas left.
Ten minutes later, Julian ripped out the IV.
Barefoot and barely able to stand, he escaped through the hospital laundry corridor.
Marcus found him in the underground garage.
Julian raised a stolen security pistol.
“Where are they?”
Marcus didn’t flinch.
“Safe.”
“My son?”
“Safe.”
“My wife?”
Marcus’s expression hardened.
“Not because of you.”
The words landed.
Julian lowered the weapon.
“I know.”
Marcus studied him.
“Good.”

Then he opened the car door.
“Because earning her forgiveness is going to be harder than surviving tonight.”
