Thomas stood beside his hospital bed.

Julian stared at him.
“No.”
Thomas stiffened.

“I saw what Maria wanted me to see.”
Julian remembered Arthur.
The syringe.

He closed his eyes.
“Where is my wife?”
Thomas reached toward the medication pump.
