It felt like an hour.
Maria slammed Eleanor into a glass cabinet.
Eleanor grabbed a brass lamp.

BANG.

Arthur Vale, Julian’s head of security, stood in the doorway.
Smoke curled from his weapon.
Eleanor almost cried with relief.
