Chapter 11 - The Park Bench One Saturday, Stallone took Olivia to the park.

They sat on the old wooden bench she loved.

The bench was cracked.

Olivia once said it looked tired but still wanted people to sit with it.

Stallone smiled at the memory.

“Grandpa?”

“Yeah?”

“Do you think Grandma is sad?”

“I think she is.”

“Because she was wrong?”

“Maybe.”

“Does being wrong make people sad?”

“Sometimes.”

“Why?”

“Because some people spend a long time believing they're right.”

Olivia thought about it.

“That sounds tiring.”

“It is.”

She laughed.

Stallone laughed too.

For a few minutes, there were no arguments.

No family history.

No difficult conversations.

Just a grandfather and granddaughter sitting beneath the afternoon sun.

Those were the moments that mattered.

Healing didn't always arrive dramatically.

Sometimes it looked like apple slices.

A cracked bench.

A child's laugh.

A hand reaching for another hand without being afraid.

Stallone realized he had spent too much of his life waiting for important moments.

Maybe the important moments were the ordinary ones.

May you like

The ones nobody photographed.

The ones children remembered forever.
