“She was taking you away.”
“And Noah?”
Margaret looked away.
“If she left, she would have taken him.”
Daniel understood.
Margaret had never simply wanted money.
She wanted ownership.
Of the company.
Of Daniel.
Of the family.
Of everyone who entered her world.
Daniel whispered:
“You had everything.”
Margaret looked at him.
“No.”
