Chapter 3 - The Trust Daniel learned about the Carter Descendant Trust from a lawyer he barely remembered.

Samuel Pierce called him at 8:12 in the morning.
“Mr. Carter, I need to discuss your son.”
Daniel's stomach tightened.
“What about Noah?”
“The Carter Descendant Trust.”
Daniel frowned.
“My father died two years ago.”
“I know.”
“And?”
“You should come to my office.”
At 10:07 that morning, Daniel learned the truth.
Henry Carter had secretly created a trust containing fifty-one percent of Carter Global Holdings.
The shares were not meant for Margaret.
Not for Daniel.
For Daniel's first biological child.
Noah.
Daniel stared at the beneficiary registration.
NOAH JAMES CARTER.
“Why didn't Dad tell me?”
“Because your father was investigating financial irregularities.”
Daniel looked up.
“What kind?”
Samuel hesitated.
“Money leaving the Carter Foundation.”
“How much?”
“Approximately 3.8 million dollars.”
Daniel felt cold.
“And who authorized it?”
Samuel slid a document across the table.
Margaret Carter.
Daniel stared at the signature.
Then everything aligned.
The rumors.
The fake DNA report.
The questions about Claire.
The sudden concern over Noah's parentage.
Margaret wasn't trying to destroy Noah.
She was trying to erase his legal existence.
Because if Noah was not Daniel's biological son, the trust could be challenged.
And Margaret could regain control.
Daniel stood.
“I ordered a DNA test.”
Samuel nodded.
“I know.”
“How?”
“The laboratory sent the result to the mansion.”
Daniel's face changed.
“My mother intercepted it?”
Samuel's expression was grim.
“She tried.”

Daniel ran home.
And arrived just in time to see his son fall.
