Thomas waited.
Then left.
Ten minutes later, Julian ripped the IV from his arm.
Every step hurt.
He stole hospital scrubs and escaped through the laundry corridor.
In the underground garage, someone was waiting.

Julian raised a stolen security pistol.
“Where are they?”
Marcus did not move.
“My son.”
“Safe.”

“I need to see them.”
Marcus stared at him.

Julian lowered the weapon.
“I know.”
