Instead, he lowered his weapon.
“I trust you.”
Eleanor walked forward.
“Mommy!”
Leo cried.
“I’m here, sweetheart.”
Elias held out his hand.
“The drive.”

Then dropped it into the river.
Elias stared in horror.
“What did you do?”

“I chose my son.”
Leo kicked backward.
