Chapter 10 - THE COURTROOM The courtroom was packed.

Reporters filled the benches.
Richard entered wearing an immaculate suit.
He looked composed.
Almost untouched by the scandal.
Sarah entered moments later holding Owen's hand.
Owen wore a dark blue jacket.
The silver medal rested against his chest.
The prosecutor presented the security footage.
The room watched.
Again.
Richard's face remained expressionless.
Until the video reached the moment he kicked Owen's crutch.
Then his jaw tightened.
The prosecutor asked the security guard to identify Richard.
"That's him."
"Was the child threatening him?"
"No."
"Did the child attack him?"
"No."
"Then why did Mr. Miller push him?"
The guard answered:
"Because the boy was in his way."
A murmur spread through the courtroom.
Richard's attorney objected.
But the truth was already there.
Visible.
Recorded.
Impossible to erase.
Then Sarah took the stand.
She described Owen's medical history.
The therapy.
The pain.
The months spent teaching him to walk again.
Her voice broke when she described seeing him lying on the marble floor.
"I didn't see a billionaire that night."
She looked directly at Richard.
"I saw a grown man hurting a child who couldn't defend himself."
The courtroom went silent.
Then Owen was called.
Sarah didn't want him to testify.
But Owen had insisted.
He climbed into the witness chair.
The judge softened his voice.
"Can you tell us what happened?"
Owen looked toward Richard.
The billionaire avoided his eyes.
Owen spoke quietly.
"He pushed me."
The prosecutor asked:
"How did that make you feel?"
Owen thought.
"Small."
Sarah closed her eyes.
Owen continued.
"But my mom came."
He smiled.
"And she made me feel big again."

Several people in the courtroom wiped away tears.
Even the judge paused before continuing.
