Every camera was recording.
Every conversation.
Every confession.
Richard didn't know.
He entered the west wing.
I confronted him.
He expected fear.
Instead, I held up the Harrington Star.
“You spent twenty-four years trying to destroy this family.”
“No.”
He smiled.
“I spent twenty-four years protecting it.”
“From what?”
“The truth.”
He confessed.
Everything.
Because he believed he had already won.
He admitted arranging Claire's disappearance.
The forged documents.
The medical facility.
The manipulation of Victor.
The pressure on Vanessa.
The necklace.
The kidnapping attempts.
All of it.
Then the lights returned.
Police flooded the mansion.
Richard froze.
Reyes stepped forward.
“Thank you.”
His face collapsed.
“You recorded me?”
I looked toward the ceiling.
“No.”
“The house did.”
The cameras had recorded every word.
For the first time, the weapon had turned against the person who created it.
Richard was arrested.
